Michi article in DQ!

My Michi Girl article in Design Quarterly this month - featuring the unmistakeable illustrative genius of Ms Kat MacLeod.

Got home somewhat exhausted after a long day at work today and was greeted by a lovely surprise - two new design magazines on my doorstep! Funny how these things put an instant spring in your step...!

And, adding to the excitement, this month's Design Quarterly features an article I wrote about Melbourne's favourite fashionista - Michi Girl! :)

I am so grateful to Alice Blackwood at DQ for commissioning this piece - because it gave me the perfect excuse to meet the lovely ladies at Ortolan graphic design studio! Kat MacLeod, Chloe Quigley and Simone Elder are so so gorgeous... and their little studio in Carlton is just the most inspiring workspace. (And they also have the best design book collection this side of Metropolis Bookshop!)

I'll be featuring some of Ortolan's work here very soon.. stay tuned! In the meantime, if you get a chance, grab a copy of Design Quarterly Vol 33 (Autumn issue - with the yellow cover), to learn a little more about Michi and her creators... :)

Michi wore yellow on Michi Girl World yesterday...
