Fires burning on the edge of Melbourne's North Eastern suburb of Doncaster on Saturday. Image from ABC News, contributed by ABC user - Chris Mulherin.
Such a sad, sad time in Victoria right now. I'm sure even if you're very far away you will have heard the awful news. Hundreds of people have been injured or killed by the devastating bushfires across the state... thousands have lost their homes, their businesses and their livestock. The photos speak for themselves.
After seeing the sheer scale of the disaster in all the news coverage today, it doesn't feel quite right to post as usual. Instead I thought I would follow Michi's lead and plug the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it just so incomprehensible. Being in my home state and knowing some of the affected areas well,it feels like a bad dream on the tv news. My heart and wallet goes out to all those living it.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I have started up a site where we are getting handmade crafters to sell their items (ebay or etsy) and pass the proceeds onto the Appeal. http://handmadehelpsout.blogspot.com/
