Sarah Deed's 'Beingness' is a collection of recognisable, yet faceless characters from popular culture. The pieces references what she terms the 'culture of cuteness', in which 'we are drawn to the proportional formula of youth and symmetry'.More grad shows...! This is the RMIT Bachelor of Arts Sculpture exhibition, which I actually spotted through the RMIT windows whilst taking a tram down Swanston st last week. Needless to say, I jumped off at the next stop and headed straight back up the road to check it out!

Marika Nilsen reconfigured various reclaimed materials, including a plot of soil which was carefully documented and transported from its original site to the exhibition space. A dialogue is created between the material's original purpose and location, and the institution.
Kim Winton's delicate Shadow Boat acts as a symbol for a specific 'psychological space'. The piece alludes to a sense of transience.
