MIDF - 4th Australian Poster Annual

My first post on the Melbourne International Design Festival Blog is up today! Please take a look :) It's just a little preview of the 4th Australian Poster Annual opening at Federation Square on July 17th as part of the Design Festival. This year designers from a variety of backgrounds were asked to respond to the MIDF festival theme - Strength in Numbers.

Some of my favourites below:

'Numbers' by Neil Keighley is a simple typographic response to the brief. I really like it - the variation in typefaces and the 'letterpressed' effect really work well together. Simple but effective.

'Critical Mass' by Andrew Wong of John Wardle Architects is a typically architectural solution to the brief! I like the tactile element... can't seem to get enough of hand-rendered type. Love the framing too - who would've thought to include the lamp and powerpoint in shot? Odd, but it works.

For more posters and a little more info about the exhibition, please check out my article over at MIDF :)

Festival-goers can see the Poster Annual exhibition at BMW Edge, Federation Square from 17th - 27th July. You can also nominate your favourite poster for the People's Choice award, which in turn will enter you into a draw to win a copy of your selection!
