online shopping - Oak NYC

Lovely things I just spotted on the website of NYC's super-cool fashion boutique Oak. Their online shop is full of beautiful pieces for both Men and Women, and they ship to Australia. I'm smitten.

I am getting the feeling that the US, UK and probably the rest of the world in general has waaay better online shopping opportunities that we Aussies do. I know, I know, online shopping should be a moveable feast.... but... a lot of online shops do not ship to Australia! (not pointing the finger at anyone in particular). What's wrong with us!? Is our money no good to you? aaah. Anyway... I am gradually discovering more online boutiques with open-minded shipping policies... and, with the current US/AU exchange rate how it is, its hard not to be tempted!

If any US readers have any more recommendations for good online shops, please share!

  1. Anthropologie seems to be slowly getting on board with Internationl Shipping, saying Australia will be supported in the future but not yet. Wish Pottery Barn shipped internationally :(

  2. I share your frustration. Plus, a lot of Australian stores have limited online capabilities which makes things difficult too..

  4. Thanks so much for your comments :) I am glad it's not just me frustrated by this situation. The worst is when ebay sellers won't ship to Aus...! What's stopping them!??

Becs - Urban Outfitters is the worst! I love their stuff too... it really frustrates me. But I notice on Schokolade's blog that Topshop now ships here! yay!

  5. I'm quite reluctant to tell you ladies about this because being over in Aus from the UK it's my little secret...but ASOS.com is basically the best online fashion store you can wish for...and I don't think you aussies know about it...and they do post here, i've only been here a few months but have already had 2 deliveries thanks to Perth shopping being so terrible. SO, unbelievably cheap and AMAZING clothes. Keep shushh though!

  8. I wish we had shipping for UO, Nau and Alter in Brooklyn the most.. I haven't tried this yet but I hear http://www.shipito.com/shop-pricing are a good freight-forwarding service, and you can put in your own declared value.

  10. For US purchases, I suggest using forwarding companies to ship your packages from the Unites States. A good example is VIAddress (http://www.viaddress.com) which I can recommend because of a pretty good experience with them. Their rates are also the cheapest among their competitors.
