Giveaway - double-passes to Bright Star preview screenings this weekend!
Everyone is talking about Jane Campion's latest film Bright Star... the reviews are positively glowing - and if you weren't already convinced to go see it after that fabulous behind-the-scenes production scrapbook on The Anthropologist website - you must watch the trailer below! It just looks so lavishly beautiful - and of course, utterly romantic!
If you can't wait until the film officially opens across Australia on Boxing Day... I happen to have 5 preview screening double-passes to give away!
The preview screenings are only on this Friday December 18th, Saturday Dec 19th and Sunday Dec 20th. The passes are valid at particpating cinemas including EVENT, Greater Union, Village, Hoyts, Birch Carroll & Coyle, Reading, Palace, dendy, Luna and selected independents. (check web/newspapers for preview screening session times at these cinemas). Please note that for some reason the passes are not valid on Saturday after 5.00pm.
Please leave a comment today if you want one of the double-passes!

oh I would dearly adore a double pass. This movie looks like a visual dream!
ReplyDeleteYes please!!!
ReplyDeleteJane Campion's work always bypasses the cliches and drives straight through to my core. This looks like another classic effort - The Piano is one of my all time favourite films. I would love to see Bright Star on the big screen and if I got a pass for this weekend it would be my most likely chance since me and my partner are going overseas at Christmas for a fairly long holiday. Given the short time films are shown for at cinemas these days, it will probably be gone by the time we get back.
Lucy, I would like to thank you for your blog - what would I do without your beautiful discoveries every day? So inspiring!
Merry Christmas, Maria Pena
David and Margaret both flagged this one as one of their top 5 of the year. Should be a winner.

Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteThere is someone I've fallen for and judging from David and Margaret's reviews I thought this would be perfect to take her to, before she is lost in the haze of holidays. And if love does not blossom as a result, I'm a poet and there's bound to be some consoling benefit in seeing Jane Campion's take on Keats. Or even just to hear the poetry read in sumptuous settings - apparently some poems feature in the film.
Bright star, would I were as steadfast as thou art ...
I see and sing by my own eyes inspired
So let me be thy choir
And make a moan
Upon the midnight houurs ...
would love a double pass! am I too late for the giveaway?
