Buro North Christmas Trees

Buro Trees - the eco-conscious, Melbourne designed and manufactured, entirely recyclable Christmas tree alternative! Top - 'Rindd' tree, bottom - 'Frigg' tree.

Buro North is an incredibly prolific, vibrant young Melbourne-based interdisciplinary design studio... you might remember I interviewed their inspiring design director, Soren Luckins, last year?

Buro North are a seriously clever bunch of people... In addition to their fantastic folio of graphic design, industrial design and wayfinding work, Buro North also design super spunky Christmas trees!

I know it's hard to part with the beautiful Christmas-sy smell of a real pine tree... but the Buro Trees do offer a very seductive eco-conscious alternative! Their beautifully designed ply-wood trees come in a range of sizes, and if you buy one, your Christmas carbon footprint continues to shrink as your re-use your tree year after year. A much more sustainable way to celebrate!

Buro's first tree, the 'Rindd' design, won a Premier's Design Award in 2008. This year they've launched two new designs - 'Frigg' and 'Gryder'. I think I love Frigg the best! I think it's the architectural, snow-flake-inspired shape.... super stylish but somehow delicate and pretty at the same time.

Visit the Buro Tree website for more info or to buy a tree.
ps) Buro North also have a fantastic blog.
